Nestled on the west bank of the Mississippi River in the quaint, historic river city of McGregor, Iowa, in Northeast Iowa, the Holiday Shores is conveniently located within a four hour drive of Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago
and the Quad Cities. The adjacent cities of Marquette and McGregor, Iowa, have a variety of restaurants and shops to enjoy and if you're looking for some "big city" shopping and entertainment,
Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin (population approx 7000) is located just over three miles away. The Holiday Shores is right
next door to the McGregor City Marina offering overnight and extended stay boat slips for a very reasonable fee, free - public
boat launch and ample parking lot. Starting Summer 2013 the Holiday Shores will have a private boat dock where motel
guests can dock their boat for free and enjoy our floating patio. A mile down the road is the Lady Luck Casino - Marquette. Also close by are the Indian Effigy Mounds National Monument, Yellow River State Forest, Pikes Peak State Park in Iowa and Wyalusing State Park in Wisconsin.
Want to get up close and personal with
the water? Nothing beats the experience of getting in a kayak or canoe and paddling one of the area rivers; enjoying the natural
beauty and wildlife of the surrounding Upper MIssissippi River National Fish and Wildlife Refuge that the area is famous
for. The Holiday Shores offers easy access for kayakers/canoers with our our terraced sea wall, adjacent sand bar and private
motel dock. Dont have your own kayak or canoe, the Holiday Shores working with local outfitters
can help you get started on this fun and easy way to get on the water through our kayaking/canoeing
classes and guided excursions using the Holiday Shores as your base camp. We offer 1 or 2 day programs that
explore the Mississippi, Wisconsin and Yellow Rivers, with evening riverside meals by our firepit. Classes are suited for

2. Mississippi River commercial excursion boat tours of the River and local environs
